Jeremy Renner says it’s a “pain in the butt” having to grow his hair for movie roles.
The actor stars in Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters alongside Gemma Arterton, sporting a shorter hairstyle and leather get-up.
His next project is an as-yet untitled David O. Russell movie and requires the 42-year-old to make some slight style changes.
“It’s a pain in the butt, I’ll tell you that! I haven’t used a comb in over a decade and I’ve had to do that again. [But the film is] gonna be absolutely fantastic,” he assured Australian radio show hosts Kyle and Jackie O.
Jeremy hit the big screen with National Lampoon’s Senior Trip in 1995 and has gone on to star in The Hurt Locker and The Bourne Legacy.
For Jeremy, acting was something he fell into rather than planned to do.
“It was something I stumbled across in college,” he explained.
“I was studying and I wanted to be a detective, but that wasn’t something that worked out because I figured you had to be a cop first. And then I took this acting class and I never looked back from there. I was about 18. I figured I could act being a cop!”
His latest movie adventure takes the classic tale of Hansel and Gretel and gives it an exciting twist.
The originality of the project inspired Jeremy to become a part of the film.
“What sold me on this idea was being familiar with the fairy tale. The gingerbread house, [they] almost get eaten by a witch. And then we started wondering what happened to them’ Fifteen years later and they’re kind of p**sed off.
They’ve become bounty hunters to kill witches that want to eat children,” he revealed.
