Universal’s “Bourne Legacy” debuted with a $14 million Friday and will knock “Dark Knight Rises” out of the top spot at the U.S. box office this weekend.
The big first day puts the super spy tale, the fourth installment in the “Bourne” franchise and the first with Jeremy Renner replacing Matt Damon as the lead, on track for a better-than-expected $41 million weekend!

The movie made $40.3 million dollars as of today and bumped TDKR to third spot. Bourne Legacy is the new #1 movie in American and Canada. The Campaign took #2 with $27.4 million at the BO. But it will increase by the end of today.

I saw it and I really liked it a lot. I think I’m going to go again at least once more, maybe twice. FWIW, I don’t like spy movies, and I wasn’t a huge fan of the original Bournes. I only went for Jeremy, and I was surprsed that I liked it so much. He was wonderful, and so full of charisma, strength, vulnerability, and smarts. Also? Jeeezus, his physical agility for his age is amazing! Fantastic chemistry between him and Mrs. Daniel Craig too. Good stuff!!!

I am so happy to hear the Bourne Legacy is doing good. Even though I already saw the movie I will probably go again. Jeremy did a great job! Way to go Jeremy!

I saw it twice this weekend and I plan to see it again. Jeremy has a really marvelous ability to blend toughness and vulnerability that I don’t think many actors have. I actually found Aaron Cross to be more relateable than Jason Bourne. There was this undercurrent of panic running through Cross the entire movie at the very idea he would revert back to his former self – a poor man’s Forrest Gump – that was intriguing and sympathetic.
When is part 2 of the Bourne Legacy because that ending was completely hang. I want moreeeeeeeeeee!!!
They ended like that to leave it open for a sequel. damn, I wish I was lost at sea with Jeremy. ☺

It just goes to show you that Jeremy has more class and style then any of them and is not afraid to speak his mind. Right on Jeremy. The movie was outstanding. Let’s hope for a sequel ladies. Jeremy is not afraid to speak his mind. Good for him. He started off without electricity and 10 dollars on food every week and look at him now. He worked hard to get where he is and that is why we love him. He is normal. Oh god all those shirtless scenes in the movie. I was chewing on my napkin the whole time at the theatre. ☺ I want to kiss this man so bad it aches. ☺

About the beard: alas, no it wasn’t real. Jeremy mentioned in another interview how he disliked having the beard put on and that it would have been impossible for him to grow one in the timeframe of the filming.
